Get the recording

Online class: download the recording from Meet, Zoom, or Teams (it comes as MP4 or M4A). In-person class: use the audio recorded on your phone (M4A or MP3). Course module: export the video from the platform, if it allows.

Frequently asked questions

My class is 1 or 2 hours long. Can I transcribe the whole thing?

On the free plan we transcribe the first 10 minutes of each file (2 files per account) and you decide whether you want the rest. With Rollin Ferramentas Pro, each file can be up to 2 hours with no limit on quantity; the price is in the Pro block on this page. A class longer than 2 hours? Cut the file in two in your video editor or a trimming app and upload one part at a time. Files up to 1 GB.

How do I summarize the class after transcribing?

Download the .txt and paste it into an AI assistant asking for a summary by topic, a list of concepts, or review questions. To go back to a specific point in the video, use the .srt: each block carries the minute and second the sentence was spoken.

I recorded an in-person class with my phone. Does it work?

It does, and quality depends on the capture. Keep the phone close to the speaker, away from fans and doors, and avoid recording inside a pocket or backpack. Classroom noise and students talking at the same time reduce accuracy; the text is editable on screen so you can fix it.

Can I transcribe a class from YouTube or the course platform?

Only with the file in hand. If you have the video (you recorded the class, exported it, or the platform allows downloading), upload it here. We do not download third-party videos, out of respect for the copyright of the teacher and the institution.

Which formats are accepted? Video and audio?

Both. Video as MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, and AVI; audio as MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, and AAC, among others. We extract the audio from the video automatically. Does the transcription get technical terms and names right?

Generally, yes: the engine recognizes vocabulary from medicine, law, engineering, and IT in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Rare acronyms, author names, and formulas spoken out loud may come out differently, so a quick review of the editable text before downloading is worth it.

The class is in Portuguese or Spanish. Does it transcribe?

Yes. Leave it on "Detect automatically" or choose the language of the class. We support English, Portuguese, and Spanish, among others. The transcript comes out in the spoken language; it does not translate.

Is the recording stored?

No. We extract only the audio, which is sent encrypted and transcribed by an infrastructure provider contracted by Rollin Host only to produce the text. The file is deleted right after processing and, in any case, within one day. We never sell or share the content with anyone. The other free tools are in the tools hub.

Need volume or a private API?

This tool is free for occasional use. To transcribe at scale, with your own API and no duration limit, we offer a dedicated Whisper Server — audio processed on your infrastructure, nothing sent outside.
