Free Migration Terms

Version 1.0 ·

1. Scope

These Terms govern the free migration service provided by Rollin Servicos Digitais e Tecnologia LTDA, CNPJ 64.204.851/0001-39 ("Rollin Host"), through which the technical team transfers websites, email accounts and databases from another provider to the Rollin Host infrastructure at no additional cost to the Customer, subject to the limits and conditions set out herein.

These Terms form part of and supplement the Terms of Service, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

The free migration service is available to Customers who:

  • Purchase an eligible plan (shared hosting, reseller, managed VPS or managed dedicated server);
  • Have the activation invoice paid in full;
  • Hold valid administrative access to the origin provider (or written authorization to access it on the Customer's behalf);
  • Request the migration within 60 days of the purchase date.

3. Covered scope

The free migration service includes, within the limits applicable to the contracted plan:

  • Websites and files: full transfer of the application directory (HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, images, uploaded files).
  • Databases: dumps and restoration of MySQL, MariaDB and PostgreSQL databases associated with the applications.
  • Email accounts: transfer of POP/IMAP mailboxes existing in the origin control panel, including messages, folders and filter settings (subject to compatibility between panels).
  • DNS configuration: replication of DNS zones when managed by the origin provider.
  • Configuration adjustments: basic technical adaptations to ensure common applications (WordPress, Joomla, PrestaShop, Magento, n8n, Laravel) function correctly in the Rollin Host environment.
  • SSL/TLS: issuance of a Let's Encrypt certificate for pointed domains after DNS propagation, at no charge.

3.1 Quantitative limits

PlanSites / cPanel accountsAggregate volume
Shared hostingup to 1 accountup to 25 GB
Resellerup to 30 cPanel accountsup to 50 GB
Managed VPSup to 50 cPanel accountsup to 100 GB
Managed dedicatedup to 200 cPanel accountsup to 500 GB

Larger volumes may be migrated under a quoted extended assisted migration engagement.

4. Unsupported cases

The following are not covered by the free migration:

  • Applications with proprietary closed source code that rely on non-transferable licenses or require manual reactivation with the original vendor.
  • Legacy systems running PHP < 7.4, or dependent on libraries not supported by the current infrastructure.
  • Custom control panels, proprietary scripts or architectures incompatible with cPanel/CloudLinux/LiteSpeed.
  • Migration from Windows servers (IIS, ASP.NET, MSSQL) — we do not operate that stack.
  • Oracle, DB2, SAP HANA or other commercial database engines not natively supported.
  • Desktop or client-server applications that rely on custom TCP/UDP ports outside the permitted set.
  • Migrations requiring code rewriting due to framework incompatibility (the Customer's responsibility, or subject to a separate remediation engagement).
  • Restoration from corrupted, encrypted (ransomware) or partially accessible backups.
  • Migrations that would violate third-party rights, contracts with the previous provider or intellectual property rights.

5. Technical requirements

For the migration to proceed, the Customer must provide:

  • Access credentials for the origin provider's control panel (cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, proprietary panel) — only through the secure form in our control panel or via an authenticated channel;
  • SSH/SFTP/FTP credentials where applicable;
  • Database credentials (host, username, password, schema) where required by the origin panel;
  • A clear list of the domains involved, along with their current DNS records;
  • An authorized technical window for the DNS cutover, where applicable.
Security: credentials must be submitted exclusively through Rollin Host's authenticated channels. Once the migration is complete, we strongly recommend that the Customer change all passwords shared during the process, both at the destination and at the origin provider.

6. Procedure

  1. Request: the Customer opens a ticket at painel.rollinhost.com.br, in the Migration queue, providing all information from section 5.
  2. Feasibility assessment: the team validates the scope, volumes and compatibility, and identifies any items outside the covered scope, within up to 2 (two) business days.
  3. Scheduling: definition of the technical execution window, taking into account the Customer's preferences (ideally during low-traffic hours).
  4. Execution: data copy, configuration adjustments and application validation in the destination environment (under a staging domain before the DNS cutover).
  5. Customer validation: the Customer receives a temporary staging URL and has up to 5 (five) calendar days to validate critical functionality and report any inconsistencies.
  6. DNS cutover: name server records are updated to point to the destination — typical propagation time is 4 to 24 hours.
  7. Post-cutover monitoring: 7 (seven) days of monitoring to address minor adjustments arising from the migration (new development is not covered).

7. Timelines and windows

Migration execution time depends on the volume and complexity of the environment. Reference timeframes:

ScenarioReference timeframe
Single site up to 5 GBup to 2 business days
Single account 5–25 GBup to 4 business days
Reseller 25–50 GB / multiple accountsup to 7 business days
VPS / dedicated > 50 GBquoted based on assessment

Delays caused by late credential delivery or slow Customer responses will be excluded from the applicable timeframes.

8. Downtime and unavailability

Rollin Host's migration methodology minimizes perceived downtime by keeping the origin environment active until final validation. Effective downtime is typically limited to the DNS propagation period.

Rollin Host does not guarantee zero downtime. The Customer accepts any unavailability window during the DNS cutover and during any final database synchronization required to close deltas between the old and new environments. Customers requiring zero-downtime migration must engage a dedicated project outside the free scope.

9. Responsibilities

9.1 Rollin Host

  • Carry out the migration with professional diligence, within the limits and timelines described herein.
  • Keep credentials and data accessed during the process strictly confidential.
  • Maintain internal documentation of all steps taken for audit purposes.
  • Promptly communicate any blockers or incompatibilities identified.

9.2 The Customer

  • Maintain an independent backup of the original environment before the migration begins — the Customer bears full responsibility for not preserving such a copy.
  • Provide valid credentials and have the authority to grant access.
  • Promptly validate the migrated environment and report any inconsistencies within the 5-day window.
  • Keep the service active at the origin provider until the migration is confirmed stable.
  • Comply with third-party software licensing obligations (commercial themes, plugins, etc.).

10. Migration cancellation

The Customer may cancel the migration before final execution without any penalty. After execution and DNS cutover, any reversal of DNS records back to the previous provider is the Customer's sole responsibility. Rollin Host may, at its discretion, offer paid assistance.

Rollin Host may cancel the free migration, notifying the Customer, in the following cases:

  • Identification of a violation of the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy in the origin content (malware, prohibited content, active spam, cryptocurrency mining).
  • Actual volume significantly exceeding what was declared, outside the plan limits.
  • Provision of invalid, false or unauthorized credentials.
  • Request for services outside the free scope without acceptance of an additional quote.

11. Confidentiality and data handling

During the migration process, Rollin Host acts as a data processor in relation to the personal data contained in the migrated environment, pursuant to applicable data protection law (including Brazil's LGPD, art. 5, VII). Details on obligations, purposes, retention and security are set out in the Data Processing Agreement (DPA) and the Privacy Policy.

Credentials provided for the execution of the work are used solely for migration purposes, are not reused and are deleted from internal systems upon completion of the migration and the post-monitoring period.

12. Amendments

Rollin Host may update these Terms at any time, with 30 days' prior notice for material changes. Migrations initiated before the new version takes effect are governed by the terms in force at the date the ticket was opened.
