Frequently asked questions
Why Kopia over a paid tool?
Kopia is open source, mature and covers the enterprise essentials: client-side encryption, deduplication, compression, granular retention, VSS on Windows and a GUI or CLI. Your only cost is the storage.
Can several servers share the storage?
Yes. Create sub-accounts with isolated folders from the panel, one per server; each machine keeps its own repository without seeing the others.
What if I lose the repository password?
The data becomes unrecoverable — that is the point of client-side encryption: not even we can open it. Keep the password in a vault accessible to more than one person.
How much does the storage cost?
Topázio (1 TB) at R$ 79.90/mo, Esmeralda (5 TB) at R$ 199.90/mo and Diamante (10 TB) at R$ 379.90/mo (billed in Brazilian reais). No lock-in: cancel or change plans anytime.
Are there traffic or request charges?
No. The price is flat for the contracted capacity. Uploads, downloads and requests never add charges — the first full copy and any restores do not change your invoice.
