Backup or sync job in HBS 3?
Backup. Sync replicates deletions, so local ransomware would wipe the remote copy too. A backup job keeps versions and lets you go back in time.
Does the QNAP need any extra app?
No. HBS 3 ships with QTS and speaks WebDAV and rsync natively. Just register the destination with the panel credentials.
What protects me if the whole NAS is compromised?
Besides HBS 3 versions, the storage keeps automatic read-only snapshots on our side that the NAS cannot delete.
